The Farmhouse Rest Home is conveniently located on Red Street, nestled between Chesterton and Talke. With easy access to the A500 and dedicated parking, it ensures a smooth, stress free journey for visitors.
Living here
The Farmhouse Rest Home boasts beautiful grounds and views overlooking the city. Residents can enjoy a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, gardening, and social events. The home also hosts regular fundraising events, ensuring a vibrant and engaging community for everyone.
Amenities
The bedrooms are spread across two floors, each with access to communal living areas. A passenger lift and stairs connect the floors, ensuring easy mobility. Residents can also use the kitchen for baking if they are able. The accommodation includes a mix of single and double rooms. Additionally, there is a homemade menu that residents can choose from, with seasonal options to enjoy.
Visiting
We offer ample parking spaces at both the front and rear of our building, ensuring convenient access for friends and family. There are no restrictions on visiting however we ask that you avoid protected meal times when possible (12pm to 1:30pm and 4pm to 5:30pm).

Meet the Team
Registered Manager
Tammy Shepherd is the CQC Registered Manager of The Farmhouse Rest Home.
Tammy has worked for the Loomer Medical Group since October 2016 and started her journey with us in the community care department – Austin Ben. Tammy came to work at The Farmhouse in March 2017 as the Assistant Manager and in 2019 was successful in her application to become the Registered Manager with the CQC (Care Quality Commission). Tammy has a broad range of knowledge in the Care Sector and boasts over 15 years experience in working with older people with complex health needs. In 2019, Tammy completed her leadership and management qualification to further enhance her skills, leadership and abilities to effectively manage the home.
Senior Healthcare Assistant
Senior Healthcare Assistants lead healthcare assistants, providing guidance and ensuring residents receive top personal care. They assist with daily activities, monitor health, train new staff, and handle administrative tasks.
Healthcare Assistant
Healthcare Assistants provide daily support to residents, helping with personal hygiene, mobility, meal times, and monitoring health. They ensure residents' comfort and dignity, reporting any health changes to senior staff.
Domestic
Domestic staff maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the care home. They clean rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and manage laundry services, creating a sanitary and pleasant living environment.
Cook
The Cook plans and prepares nutritious meals, considering dietary restrictions and preferences. They ensure meals meet health standards, manage kitchen supplies, and adhere to food safety regulations.
Maintenance
Maintenance staff keep the care home's facilities and equipment in good order, performing repairs, managing systems, and ensuring safety compliance. They maintain a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
Activities Coordinator
The Activities Coordinator plans and facilitates engaging activities for residents, promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical activity. They enhance residents' quality of life with a varied schedule of enjoyable events.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) makes sure hospitals, care homes, dental and GP surgeries, and all other care services in England provide people with safe, effective, compassionate and high-quality care and encourages them to make improvements where possible.
